Intermountain End-Stage Renal Disease Network, Inc. (ImESRDN) is now doing business as Intermountain Quality Innovations (ImQI). The mission/vision of ImQI is to advance the improvement of healthcare quality provided to people with acute and chronic conditions, including ESRD, through clinical & logistical support, provider/patient/family education, research, data collection, and analysis. Currently, ImQI is collaborating with Comagine Health Nevada on phase two of a CMS-funded initiative to reduce potentially avoidable hospitalizations in the Nursing Home setting, with the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) on preventing infection in dialysis units, and with the Mid-Atlantic Renal Coalition (MARC) on updating the 5-Diamond Patient Safety Program.

Intermountain Quality Innovations (ImQI) began as the Intermountain End-Stage Renal Disease Network, Inc. (ImESRDN) in 1978 when it was awarded one of the original 32 End-Stage Renal Disease Network Program contracts. In 2006, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) awarded ImESRDN an additional ESRD Network contract to provide services in Northern California, Hawaii, and the Pacific Island Territories.  ImESRDN is recognized as a leader in quality improvement (QI), patient engagement, and data services. Its staff were recognized locally and nationally for their expertise and were sought out by CMS for participation on various workgroups and technical expert panels.

ImESRDN was a performance leader in the ESRD Network program and was successful in executing two federal contracts across multiple states in the Western US for decades.

Lead by a strong Board of Directors, ImESRDN maintained above average CPAR scores in contracting with the Federal government.  In addition to its federal contract work, ImESRDN has worked with Departments of Health on the state level to advance safe and quality healthcare using innovation as a cornerstone.
